Ventana has been selected to design, manufacture, and install the exterior wall systems at the 18-story tall office building known as Spectre. Located in Chicago’s Fulton Market, the office tower will be one of its kind with amenities such as a fitness facility, lounge, roof top patio, and basketball court.
The exterior skin at the tower consists of two types of curtain wall. The first type features glass in the vision areas and metal panels at the floor slabs. “Golden” metal panels will be seen in certain locations on the east and west elevations. The second type of curtain wall has a picture frame look and features “golden” caps. Ventana’s eight inch deep MWS-200 system and one inch thick insulated glass units will be fabricated in China and utilized on the project. For increased performance, the glass units will be filled with argon gas and a triple silver low-E coating will be applied on the number two surface. The parts of the project closest to the train rails will feature acoustical glass to minimize noise levels entering the building. At the main entrance, a glass fin wall will be provided and it will boast with full-height 45 foot tall glass fins. Additional components included in Ventana’s scope are free-standing louvers, metal panel soffits, revolving doors, and swing doors.
