The addition of the McDonald’s Headquarters to the West Loop will complement the neighborhood’s unique industrial and gritty, yet new and sleek look.

Ventana was selected to design, manufacture, and install the exterior wall systems at the new McDonald’s World Corporate Headquarters located in one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in Chicago – the West Loop. The addition of the McDonald’s Headquarters to the West Loop complements the neighborhood’s unique industrial and gritty, yet new and sleek look.

The project materials were sourced and fabricated domestically. Ventana’s unitized MWS-180 curtain wall system was utilized on the project and was fabricated in Indiana. The glass was provided by Viracon. The ground floor of the building features low-iron glass for added transparency and the remaining building envelope features tinted glass (Optigray). Additionally, argon gas fills the air-cavities of the insulated glass units and Viracon’s VE-2M and VRE-65 low-E coatings were used for enhanced solar performance.

Furthermore, 7,400 square feet of VS-1 system was provided on the project. This is a point-supported system with ten inch deep bullet-shaped mullions and no horizontals, which allows for a clean, transparent look. The VS-1 system was installed on the 6th floor Innovation Center, as well as at the anchor tenant’s entrance at the east elevation of the building. The entrance also feature a unique VS-1 canopy that cantilevers off the VS-1 system.
