Ventana has been hired to design, manufacture, and install the exterior curtain wall at the Wills Wharf project. The building is located along Baltimore’s waterfront in the growing Harbor Point development. The 12-story structure will be a mixed-use building housing 156 hotel rooms as well as office and retail space.
The majority of the project will consist of unitized curtain wall. Ventana’s seven inch deep MWS-180 system will be utilized and the system will be fabricated in Indiana. The high-performance glass will be imported from Columbia, South America. Solarban 70XL, a triple silver low-E coating, will be applied on surface number two of the insulated glass units. A VLT (Visible Light Transmission) of 64 percent and an SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) of 0.27 makes the Solarban 70XL one of the highest performing glass types in the industry. The project also features an elegant structural glass fin wall. Both the 20 foot tall, triple laminated glass fins and the oversized, low-iron face glass are imported from Beijing Northglass Technologies in China.
