Ventana supplied and installed 137,000 square feet of exterior curtain wall for this 510,000-square-foot building.

Ventana designed, supplied, and installed 137,000 square feet of exterior curtain wall at this 12-story office building. The project is located on Washington University School of Medicine’s and BJC HealthCare’s growing medical campus in the Central West End in St. Louis. The 510,000-square-foot building includes a full basement, is located next to the Central West End MetroLink station, and consolidates medical offices currently housed at the Barnes-Jewish Center for Outpatient Health and across the Washington University medical campus community.

Ventana’s MWS-180 unitized curtain wall with custom profiles specific to the client’s needs was provided on this project. The seven inch deep, four-sided structurally glazed system was fabricated in Columbia, South America. The glass, also imported from Columbia, features a Solarban z50 Low-E coating on the number two surface and gives the glass its steel blue-gray appearance. Furthermore, the Solarban z50 glass controls glare and provides the daylighting and solar control required for a sustainable design. Additional scope included Cenia Limestone that was imported from Spain and later integrated into the unitized curtain wall panels at the inside returns and parapet.
